Nokeng Fluorspar Mine (“NFM”) is situated in the area of Rust de Winter, some 80km north east of Pretoria. Construction for the mine facilities commenced in June 2017. NFM is looking to employ a Laboratory Manager to join the team in the operations of the mine.
Position Summary: The incumbent will be responsible for the management of NFM’s assay laboratory capable of a complete and regular sampling, assaying and reporting to enable proper control of the mine operations and ensuring that the final product quality prior to being shipped to customers.
Performance Areas for the Position: Management and monitoring of the laboratory management systems, management of document controls, determine the deployment of lab activities and standard operating procedures, decide on and recommend degree of outsourcing, operate the day-to-day laboratory duties, manage plant QA/QC parameters, management of laboratory and maintenance of vital records.
Qualifying Requirements: An experienced Laboratory Manager with a relevant NQF Level 8 equivalent qualification and at least 7-year’s relevant experience. The incumbent must be able to implement and operate effective QA/QC programs, setup and manage lab information management system, work independently, take initiative and be proactive, manage people and finance, defend the results of the laboratory. The mineral mined is Calcium Fluoride and experience in this field will rate very highly.
