Our Communities
Social and Labour Plan
At SepFluor, we are committed to driving sustainable development and empowering the communities in which we operate. As a responsible mining company, we understand the importance of balancing economic growth with social and environmental responsibility.
In compliance with Regulation 42 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA), mining companies are required to submit a Social and Labour Plan (SLP) to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) as a pre-requisite for the granting of a mining right. The SLP outlines initiatives aimed at ensuring the socio-economic upliftment of employees and host communities, as well as promoting sustainable local economic development.
Our SLP forms an integral part of our operations and reflects our dedication to fostering meaningful partnerships and long-term sustainability. Key focus areas of our SLP include:
- Community Development: Investments in infrastructure, education and healthcare projects to improve the quality of life for local communities.
- Skills Development: Training programs, bursaries and learnerships aimed at enhancing the employability of local residents and upskilling our workforce.
- Employment Equity: Promoting diversity and inclusivity in our workforce, ensuring fair representation across all levels of the organisation.
- Local Economic Development (LED): Supporting small businesses, procuring from local suppliers and creating opportunities for sustainable economic growth in our host communities.
- Employee Welfare: Initiatives focused on health, safety and overall well-being of our employees and contractors.
We invite stakeholders to review our SLP, which demonstrates our commitment to responsible mining and community empowerment. The SLP is available for download below:
